Thanks for everything

Hi Jerry, I want to say thank you for all of your assistance with getting started in this class. This is my last class before I begin working on my MBA. It was also important to me to finish my BS in the same year as my son. He will walk across the stage on May 20th. I took th eliberty to update all of my blogs based on your comments and feedback.

Your class has been insightful. My attention to detail really kicks in whenever I look at artwork. I am also compelled to pay close to the period in which the work was completed.

I wish everybody the best of luck with their future endeavors. I enjoyed reviewing your documents on the museum's that you visited. The pictures and presentation were great.

Take care and good luck!

Final week wrap up

To everyone in this class good luck all your future endeavors. I enjoyed this class more than I initially thought I would. I was able to visit some great sites in NY and CT and now I hold a deep appreciation for art and its history. I look forward to future museums trips and new art to take in. Thanks for providing me with the opportunity to create some great photos and memories.

What's up ya'll,

This is it!!!!! I have posted my last assignment from the Yale Center for British Art, I was not that impressed with the museum but they still had a few peices that I enjoyed. I have had a great time in this class and have learned so much. It has definatley been a wonderful expereince that I will continue to follow.

To everyone who is graduating next weekend, CONGRATS!!!! I'll see you there and I wish you much success.

Jerry once again it has been a pleasure taking another one of your classes, I am always bragging/promoting your classes. You have taught me a wealth of knowledge and most importantly have inspired me to tap into my creative side. This is definatley an experience I can share with others and something I really enjoyed and came to "appreciate" :)

Class is winding up.....

Hi All,

Classes are over in the day program now and here we are at the end of this adventure! I hope you had a positive experience in taking this non-traditional class.... From what you have written and photographed, I'd say it was a success...!

I need to get the grades in ASAP next week with the 15th (Tues) being the latest according to the registrar... She needs to get the grades for the graduating seniors especially. I am continuing to read everyone's papers and posts as well as post comments. Tuesday then is the final deadline for getting all of your work done.

This was the first time I asked students to create a blog to post their work to... It has paid off in many ways... Your photographs look so much better on your blog than pasted into a word document. I believe that your writing is better and more vital as you are writing for a larger audience than just me, the instructor. You are publishing out to the Web and I think you are proud of the results. There were a few kinks with the way blogger worked as Google recently bought them and in the transition there are still a couple of bugs... nothing too terrible though.

I will continue with this format for the time being. My greatest hope is that you found this experience enriching and will continue to enjoy visiting the many wonderful museums here in the Northeast and beyond.

Best wishes for a restful and enriching summer, everyone!

-Jerry

I LOVE NEW YORK! The Metropolitian Museum

Hello All,

I was finally able to get to the Met in NYC. It was pure chaos in NYC.. I LOVE IT! There was some sort of parade going on out there so there were many, many people in and out of the museum. This week are my Picture postings and Since I had two to complete I also went to the Guggenheim Museum to do something different. With my Luck, my camera went dead on me becasue I was taking pictures of all the madness in NYC and since I didn't bring the charger I was unable to take pictures which was a huge dissapointment. This now means I have one more museum to go to. During my visit to the Met I decided to focus on the Art Sculptures which I now have a special appreciation and personal interest for. come check out my pictures and don't forget to leave me a comment.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

On Friday I visited "The Met", it was a gorgeous day. It's up on my blog now. Hope you like it.

Tony

New Britain Museum of American Art

Yesterday I visited the New Britain Museum of American Art. I went with all intentions of seeing Graydon Perrish's The Cycle of Terror and Tragedy. My trip had a little detour in it because the museum was having a silent auction later in the day so much of the permanent work was not on display but I had a fun trip, nonetheless. Check out my blog for my writeup on NBMAA.

This is my last paper and it is posted wow :o) I didn't. Now I just have revisions and one more visit to a museum. Stop by and join in my visit with me.

Thank You

Revision to New Britain Museum Blog.

Hello all,

I realized I made an error on my trip to the New Britain Museum. In my original Blog I wrote that i was handed some papers by the front desk that was a cheat sheet to the art peices dedicated to 9/11. My freind who I went to the museum with who was also working on an Art project recently had an opportunity to read my blog informed me that those were papers she had printed of the internet prior to our trip sine she had done some research on the museum and were not handed to me from the front desk. I felt a little silly about it, because I was handed some papers but those wern't it, I must've just gotten them confused. anyway I have revised my blog so please come check it out and leave me a comment.

Revision

I have revised my blog for my visit to Yale Center for British Art. I hope you can stop by to read it. Thanks for your time.

Tubman African American Museum

Today I stumbled upon the Tubman African American Museum. I went to visit one of my clients, Technicon Engineering in Macon, GA and saw a huge bill board on 16 for the Tubman African American Museum. At first glance I ignored it, but when I got off the highway there was another sign for the museum. My seond instinct was to take a minute and see what they had on exhibit. I was pleasantly surprised by the history and the culture that the museum has to offer. They are currently in the process of building a 49,000 square foot museum so that they can display more exhibits at one time and hold their after school workshops and art classes on the premises. Unfortunately, I only had a note pad and pencil to write down what I saw, but I encourage you to visit their website to check out their new building and some of the exhibits. at http://www.tubmanmuseum.com/newbuilding/

Please stop by and read my review of the museum at katonyahughey.blogspot.com

Yale University Museum of Art

ACK!!!!!!!!! I am sorry for being late. My mother is coming Thursday for three weeks, so I have been preparing the house for her (I had to move the nursery into my bedroom!). I didn't want to post until I could give the photos the comments they deserved and I needed a little extra time. It's my last "paper" (I have only one museum/photo excursion left) and I wanted it to be special. Please read at your leisure!

The Wadsworth

Hello all,

I made it to the Wadsworth in Hartford last week. I came on to post my pictures and realized that my husband has my camera. They will be up tomorrow, which I will also be visiting the Mattatuck in Waterbury. I'll post a lilnk when they are up. I enjoyed the Wadsworth, but because I got there at 4pm I felt rushed because they were closing. I was in Hartford for a conference and tried to kill two birds with one stone.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

This past Saturday I ventured to NYC and visited the Met. This museum has something for any artlover. I had a great time so if you're interested head on over to my blog and check out my paper and pics.

Me over by the koi pond in the Asian art area. These fish were unbelievably enormous.
