I just figured out to do this, I think. You have to go to you blog and click on the tab that says SETTINGS, then click on the tab that says PERMISSIONS and put in the email addresses you want to invite. I went to the email list and copied it. Hope this helps. If not go to the help section and type in invite.
Charlotte is right about permissions to POST to your blog... That may not be necessary... You may just want class members to be able to post comments in the comments section of your posts... That is taken care of with a more global setting.
Under settings>comments you can set it to allow comments from any registered gmail blogger, just invited members of the blog and anyone.
